Stems that arrived the previous evening are unpacked, inspected, and re-cut at 45-degree angles under water to prevent air embolisms. Each variety has its own conditioning protocol: peonies are stripped of lower foliage and placed in deep water; ranunculus are re-cut every six hours; roses have their guard petals removed and their thorns stripped by hand.<\/p>\n<p>By 8am, the morning&#8217;s orders are laid out on the composition table. Each order has a card \u2014 the recipient, the occasion, the message. The florist reads the card first, then builds. This is not assembly-line work. Each arrangement is a response to a specific brief, a specific person, a specific moment.<\/p>\n<p>By 10am, the arrangements are photographed and the confirmation images are sent to clients.
